Description:
During an upgrade from TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM (AMX BPM) 2.2.0 to AMX BPM 4.1 the following error can occur.

"TIBCO-AMX-HPA-000187: [amxadmin:Node-Change features:442]: TIBCO ActiveMatrix host amxbpm-server01-host failed to provision product features in refresh mode on node BPMServ1Node1: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: TIBCO-AMX-HPA-000258: The provisioning agent could not resolve a component. If the provisioning was in stable mode then you may want to retry in resolve mode, since this gives the provisioning agent more freedom to rewire the runtime. [TIBCO-AMX-HPA-000274: Failure to resolve Bundle id 256 named com.tibco.pvm.im.core version 3.3.1.001 starting at 100 at location "reference:file:/var/tibco/amxbpm/cfg/tibcohost/amxbpm-server01-host/data_3.2.x/host/plugins/com.tibco.pvm.im.core_3.3.1.001.jar" caused by Missing Constraint: Import-Package: com.tibco.expr.core.datatype; version="[1.3.1,1.5.0)".]""

Cause:
The error occurs while trying to remove old software. That software cannot be removed because it is still referenced by the old version of the application.

Environment

Product: TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Version: 2.2.0, 2.2.0 HF 1 OS: All Supported Operating Systems

Resolution

This issue is fixed in AMX BPM 2.2.0 HF 2.

1). If not performed already, apply the latest TIBCO ActiveMatrix Platform v3.3.0 hotfix.
2). Apply AMX BPM v2.2.0 HF 2.
3). Upgrade to AMX BPM 4.1.
