Introduction
Hotfixes are cumulative. This hotfix includes all previous generally available
hotfixes for TIBCO ActiveMatrix(R) Platform 3.1.5.

Applicable Products
This hotfix applies to the following products and versions:
- TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Bus 3.1.5
- TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Grid 3.1.5
- TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM 1.3.X, 2.0.0, 2.1.0
- TIBCO Business Studio BPM Edition 3.5.3, 3.5.5, 3.5.10, 3.5.20
- TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Service Engine 5.9.3 + HF-006 or above
(5.9.3-HF-006 or above is mandatory for use with this hotfix)

Installation
The installation steps refer to two locations:
- <TIBCO_HOME> is the fully-qualified path to the installation folder.
- <TIBCO_CONFIG_HOME> is the fully-qualified path to the folder that stores
configuration data generated by TIBCO products.
All Platforms:
Follow the steps in scenario 1 or 2 as appropriate.

Scenario 1: Steps for applying the hotfix to a new installation of
the above products.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Follow the installation instructions for the applicable products.
Note the installation profile selected. In the last panel of the installer,
uncheck the checkbox labeled "Run TIBCO Configuration Tool", if it is
present.
2. Extract the hotfix archive file to a temporary directory, different
from where the product installer archive was extracted.
3. Download TIBCO Universal Installer 2.9.7 V1 from the TIBCO Support
server ftp://support-ftp.tibco.com to the same temporary directory as
step 2.
4. Navigate to the temporary directory where the hotfix archive file was
extracted.
5. Invoke the TIBCO Universal Installer, selecting an existing <TIBCO_HOME>.
6. If the installation profile selected in step 1 above included
Runtime Host or Administration, run TIBCO Configuration Tool from
<TIBCO_HOME>/tct/1.1.

Scenario 2: Steps for applying the hotfix to an existing installation of the
above products.
NOTE: The hotfix will be automatically applied to only new nodes that are
created after installation of the hotfix. To apply the hotfix to existing
instances, perform the steps below.

1. Shut down all TIBCO Host instances. If you have replicated TIBCO
ActiveMatrix Administrator servers, do not stop all servers at once while
upgrading. Only stop the one you are upgrading.
2. Repeat steps 3-8 for all machines in the TIBCO ActiveMatrix enterprise:
a. First, on each machine on which TIBCO ActiveMatrix Administrator server
is running.
b. On each machine running one or more TIBCO Host instances.
3. Extract the hotfix archive file to a temporary directory.
4. Download TIBCO Universal Installer 2.9.7 V1 from the TIBCO Support FTP
server ftp://support-ftp.tibco.com to the same temporary directory as
step 3.
5. Navigate to the same temporary directory where the hotfix archive was
extracted.
6. Invoke the TIBCO Universal Installer, selecting the existing <TIBCO_HOME>
to which the hotfix needs to be applied.
7. For the TIBCO Host instance that you want to update, perform a backup
(required to support uninstallation):
a. Open a terminal window and change to
"<TIBCO_HOME>/amx/3.1/scripts/upgrade/upgrade-to-3.1.5".
b. Run the command:
"ant backup-tibcohost -Dth.backup.tag=pre3.1.5-HF10
-Dtibco.config.mgmt.home=<TIBCO_CONFIG_HOME>
-Dtibcohost.instance.name=<INSTANCE_NAME>
-Denterprise.name=dummy -Dadmin.server.name=dummy"
c. Make a backup of the <TIBCO_CONFIG_HOME>/tibamx_patchmgr folder.
8. For the TIBCO Host instance that you want to update:
a. Open a terminal window and change to "<TIBCO_HOME>/amx/3.1/bin".
b. Run this command:
"tibamx_patchmgr applyPatch -configHomeLocation <TIBCO_CONFIG_HOME>
-instanceName <instanceName> -ID amx.platform.patch:3.1.5.HF10"
c. Restart the TIBCO Host instances.
9. If the hotfix has been applied to TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM 1.3.X or
BPM 2.0.0 and amx.bpm.app and amx.bpm.sysorgmodel appear to be stuck
in the status "Waiting for dependencies" after restarting their TIBCO
Host instance(s), perform the following steps in the ActiveMatrix
Administrator UI:
a. Go to Infrastructure --> Nodes
b. Make sure the BPMEnvironment is selected
c. Select the BPMNode
d. Click on the "Install" drop down and select the "Resolve only" option
10.If the hotfix has been applied to TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM 1.3.X or
BPM 2.0.0 and amx.bpm.app is in the Start Failed state and the log shows
a Null Pointer Exception in TranQL at
org.tranql.connector.AbstractManagedConnection.getConnection
(AbstractManagedConnection.java:171, restart the node to recover.
When you view a node to which this patch has been applied in the Administrator
UI, some of the feature versions displayed under "Infrastructure > Nodes >
Configuration > Features" or "Infrastructure > Software Management >
Features" will not reflect the latest versions of the features installed with
the hotfix. The inconsistency is expected. Do not perform any actions on the
node to correct it.
To determine the patch level of all the nodes managed by a TIBCO host instance,
use the "describeAppliedPatches" command in tibamx_patchmgr.
Run "tibamx_patchmgr intro" and "tibamx_patchmgr help" for more details on the
tool.

Post-Installation
If you install another TIBCO ActiveMatrix product (for example, TIBCO
ActiveMatrix BPM) after installing this hotfix, execute the
post-install steps to remove duplicate plug-ins from TIBCO Business Studio:
1. Exit TIBCO Business Studio.
2. Open a command window and change to
"<TIBCO_HOME>/eclipse-platform/ganymede/eclipse/p2postinstall".
3. Run "ant -Dtibco.home.esc=<TIBCO_HOME> -f post-install.xml".
4. Run "TIBCOBusinessStudio -clean -initialize".

Uninstallation
TIBCO Business Studio does not support uninstalling a hotfix. To roll
back to the previous version of TIBCO Business Studio, reinstall the previous
version of the product in a new installation environment and choose the
SOA Development profile.
To roll back the hotfix from TIBCO Host instances and nodes in an enterprise
managed by TIBCO ActiveMatrix Administrator, follow these steps:
1. Any changes made through ActiveMatrix Administrator after the hotfix was
installed must be rolled back before uninstalling the hotfix; this includes
rolling back any nodes created, applications deployed, and resource instances
installed. Otherwise, after uninstalling the hotfix these runtime objects will
no longer be manageable.
2. For every TIBCO Host instance in the TIBCO ActiveMatrix enterprise where
the patch was applied:
a. Shut down the TIBCO Host instance.
b. Open a command window and change to
"<TIBCO_HOME>/amx/3.1/scripts/upgrade/upgrade-to-3.1.5".
c. Run the command:
"ant restore-tibcohost -Dth.restore.zip=<BACKUP_ZIP>
-Dtibco.config.mgmt.home=<TIBCO_CONFIG_HOME>
-Dtibcohost.instance.name=<INSTANCE_NAME>
-Denterprise.name=dummy -Dadmin.server.name=dummy"
where:
<BACKUP_ZIP> is the ZIP file created by the backup-tibcohost command above;
the file will be found in
<TIBCO_CONFIG_HOME>/tibcohost/<INSTANCE_NAME>/upgrade-to-3.1.5/backups
d. Change to "<TIBCO_HOME>/amx/3.1/scripts".
e. Run "ant -f uninstall-hotfix-3.1.5.HF10.xml".
f. Restore the backup of the <TIBCO_CONFIG_HOME>/tibamx_patchmgr folder
(made in step 7.c, Installation Scenario 2) to that same location.
g. Run TIBCO Configuration Tool and restore any required third party
drivers (for example, Oracle 11g driver) that were removed in step e.
h. Start the TIBCO Host instance.

Closed Issues in 3.1.5_hotfix010 (This Release)
SDS-6993
TIBCO Business Studio no longer refuses to connect to TIBCO ActiveMatrix
Administrator when configured with load balancer.
TAP-9892
The screen "Infrastructure > Software Management > Features" no longer shows
incorrect feature status. For example, even when a feature was "Installed",
its status would be displayed as "Marked for Install". Now the feature status
shows the correct value, consistent with that on the screen "Infrastructure >
Nodes > Configuration > Features".
TAP-11965
When TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM user applications are upgraded, the ActiveMatrix
Administrator console no longer suggests downgrading the BPM platform model
product feature through the upgrade dialog.
TAP-11968
When TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM applications are upgraded, old features are now
correctly cleaned up automatically from the nodes once the old version of the
application completes and is removed.
NOTE: If a feature is removed manually from a node associated with a BPM
application preparing for undeployment, the bundles are not actually
removed from the node. The UI might indicate that they have been removed.
TAP-12094
The screen, "Infrastructure > Software Management > Features", now takes less
time to render when a large number of features are listed. As part of the
optimization, the Action History column now always displays the fixed text
"click to see node actions" instead of showing the rolled up value. This
trade-off is made in favor of higher performance. You can still click on the
text to open up the Action History Details dialog as before.
