Installation

All Products

Determine the server's operating system, select the zip file from the hotfix

that matches this information, and unzip it to a temporary location.

----------------------------------------

Transaction Insight

1. Back up the environment folder. The location of this folder varies. A

   typical install on Windows would place the folder at

   c:\TIBCO\TransactionInsight\5.0.0\Environments\<ENV>, where <ENV> is

   your environment folder.

2. Unzip the environment.zip folder into the environment folder from the

   previous step.

3. For Oracle TI databases, execute the following script contained in the

   database\Oracle directory of the hotfix:

       - TIB_transactioninsight_5.0.0_HF-001.sql

4. For SQL Server TI databases, execute the following script contained in the

   database\SqlServer directory of the hotfix:

       - TIB_transactioninsight_5.0.0_HF-001.sql

5. (OPTIONAL)

   A new "Character Encoding" setting has been added to Common Administration

   --> Settings --> General Settings. This is used to set the character

   encoding of files written to disk during revalidation. If left blank, the

   default encoding of the web server operating system is used. To change

   this value, enter a supported code page name as defined in the "Encoding Class"

   documentation on MSDN.

6. If this is a web server, restart IIS.

1. For Oracle TI databases, execute the following script contained in the

   database\Oracle directory of the hotfix:

Importer

A new option (NLS_LANG) has been added to the [Database] section of

Importer.ini to support TI-978.

   [Database]

   NLS_LANG=LANGUAGE_TERRITORY.CHARACTER_SET

Use this option to indicate the language, territory and character set when

connecting to an Oracle database.  This value overrides the value of "NLS_LANG"

set in the parent environment or Windows registry.  If nothing is set in the

environment or registry (typical with Instant Client) the driver assumes

US7ASCII which does not permit character values greater than decimal 127.

Since the point of TI-978 is to handle characters outside the legal range for

ASCII (> 127) NLS_LANG should be set to use the WE8MSWIN1252 character set which

allows these characters.  For example:

NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252

See the Oracle® Database Globalization Support Guide for details of the

NLS_LANG environment variable.

TIEMSQueueReader

If you are not using TIEMSQueueReader, skip this section.

TIEMSQueueReader.jar is now included in the java standard environment/java

directory along with other TI jar files.  This jar will now be installed when

following the directions in the Transaction Insight installation section.

Uninstallation

To remove a hotfix, you must:

1. delete the contents of the hotfix directory and restore any files changed per

the hotfix readme instructions.

2. If any database scripts were run, restore your database from the backup you

made prior to installing the hotfix.

This returns your software to its original condition.

To reinstall a previous hotfix version, follow the instructions

published in the hotfix readme file that is part of the hotfix

package.
