Description

When you try to access and run a stored procedure via the Spotfire Data Connector for Teradata, it may fail with the following error message:

External error:
[Teradata Database] [5510] Invalid session mode for procedure execution.


The attached "error.JPG" file illustrates this, in an image that shows a 'Data Connection" pop-up error dialog, along with the dialogs that are opened by a "Views in Connection > Stored Procedures > Run" selection sequence.

Resolution

Try changing the Teradata connection's Session mode to "ANSI".

Detailed steps:

(1) Select "File > Add Data Tables > Teradata Connection" from the main menu, then select the Teradata Connection dialog's Advanced tab.

(2) On the Advanced tab, select "ANSI" from the "Session mode" drop-down list, then press the Teradata Connection dialog's OK button to close the dialog.

(3) Press the OK button in the Add Data Tables dialog.
