Issue/Introduction

There are scenarios when the hostname/domain name of an existing Spotfire Server is changed. In such cases the Spotfire Server URL is not accessible.

Environment

All supported operating systems

Resolution

To resolve the issue follow the steps below:

- Browse to <Spotfire installation folder\tibco\tss\10.3.0\tomcat\spotfire-bin>. In versions lower than 10.3 "uiconfig.bat" is located in "C:\tibco\tss\XXX\tomcat\bin"
- Launch Spotfire Configuration tool "uiconfig.bat"
- In "System Status" tab click "create new bootstrap file"
- Ensure the updated server name is listed in the "addresses" section.

- Now create a new bootstrap and restart the Spotfire Server service.

NOTE:-
The domain name/hostname changes impact existing node manager trust as well.

- It is recommended to trust the nodes again after the Spotfire server has been re-bootstraped.

Changes to be done on the Node Manager:
- Open and edit "nodemanager.properties" located in <C:\tibco\tsnm\10.3.0\nm\config>
- Updated the new Spotfire Server FQDN in "server.name=" field.
- Save the file.
- Login to Spotfire Server UI with administrative credentials.
- Navigate to "Nodes & Services"
- In "Your Network" TAB select "NODES" from the Dropdown menu.
- Highlight the Node and select "Revoke trust"
- Restart the Node Manager Service from the Windows Services console.

- Login to Spotfire Server UI with administrative credentials.
- Navigate to "Nodes & Services", then click on "Untrusted nodes" TAB and trust the listed node.
