ActiveMatrix BPM application

Resolution
It is recommended to apply the latest TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Grid (AMX Platform) hotfix prior to upgrading TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM (AMX BPM) application. Note that the AMX Platform hotfix version on the BPMNodes should be either same level or lower than the Administrator nodes.
There are two possible ugprade scenarios.
1). Upgrade of AMX BPM which involves a change in AMX Platform version.
For example, when upgrading AMX BPM v2.1 to v4.1, the AMX Platform version changes from v3.1.5 to v3.3.0. In this case, following the upgrade options need sto be executed.
- Upgrade the ActiveMatrix TIBCO Host Instance (upgrade-tibcohost).
- Upgrade the ActiveMatrix Administrator (upgrade-admin).
- Upgrade the nodes hosting the ActiveMatrix BPM Instance (upgrade-bpmnodes).
- Apply the AMX Platform hotfix as per the instructions in the readme file.
- Upgrade the ActiveMatrix BPM Instance Application (upgrade-bpm).
2). Upgrade AMX BPM which does not involve a change in AMX Platform version
For example, when upgrading AMX BPM v3.1 to v4.1, the AMX Platform remains the same - v3.3.0. In this case, the following upgrade options need to be executed.
- Apply the AMX Platform hotfix as per the instructions in the readme file.
- Upgrade the ActiveMatrix BPM Instance Application (upgrade-bpm).
Note that the exact upgrade steps may vary with the topology of the environment.
