Designer View: Designer View will bring up a dialog where all parameters of the nodes in a workspace will be displayed in a single dialog. The workspace designer may then pick and choose what parameters need to be exposed to the end user, thereby making a complex workspace simple to the end user. It also serves as a way to lock down certain necessary parameters. The designer view can be opened by clicking Designer View on any workspace.
The designer view allows the workspace designer to set various properties for the parameters selected. Example shown below has Variable Selection of a node. The designer may change the display name to "Variables for Descriptive Statistics" and define if this should be visible but made into a read only (meaning the end user may view these values but not change them) or decide if there is a minimum number of variables to be selected by the end user and so on. A brief description of what each property for the parameters is displayed in the information box at the bottom of the dialog.
User View: User view is a limited view of the parameters of the workspace if designer has restricted parameters as defined in the above section. User view can be seen by clicking on UserView in the workspace or by clicking Edit>>User View. User view for the same workspace as above has fewer parameters for the nodes as designed.
A User view in a workspace can be enabled by clicking on Edit >> Enable User View.
When User View is enabled, a user running the workspace via Statistica server will have the option to change the user view parameters before running the workspace.
NOTE : In Statistica 13.5 and later versions, the user view will determine the input parameters shown in Spotfire Statistica Data Function if Statistica extension for Spotfire is being used.
