Description

Does TSSS need to be installed as the same user/group as SAS? Does the TSSS user need to modify any other underlying SAS files (metadata, libraries, etc)?

Issue/Introduction

Does TSSS need to be installed with the same User or Group as SAS?

Environment

Product: TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services Engine: SAS Version: All supported versions OS: All supported Operating Systems

Resolution

TSSS calls SAS by setting up a directory containing a SAS script and SAS input data files, and then calls SAS to process the script (which will read the input files, and write output files).  Thus, TSSS has to be running as a user/group that can call SAS.  It doesn't have to be the same user/group as SAS, as long as it can call SAS.  We don't know whether modifying SAS system files would allow the TSSS user to execute SAS, if it was otherwise not able to.
