Spotfire Statistica All versions

Description

All versions prior to Statistica 13.3.0 that are Single-User desktop licenses will not permit Remote Desktop (Terminal Services), by design.  Single-User desktop licenses were considered single-user and can only be used at the console itself, not remotely.  This applies for all versions up to Statistica 13.3.0 (6.0 up through 13.2).  When Statistica was purchased by TIBCO, stand-alone desktop installs now allow for terminal services, beginning with Statistica 13.3.0.

Issue/Introduction

This article discusses using a Statistica stand-alone desktop version via Remote Desktop

Environment

Windows operating system only. Does not apply to installs with keys for 13.3.0 and above.

Resolution

The following is an example of the message shown when trying to start Statistica using Remote Desktop (also know as Terminal Services) with Statistica 10.

Terminal Services not allowed

The solution is to use Statistica at the console or computer directly instead of through remote desktop or upgrade to TIBCO Statistica 13.3.x.

Note:
As stated in the details above, starting with Statistica 13.3.0, licenses through TIBCO remote desktop (RDP or Terminal Services) is allowed with all install types.  To upgrade to Statistica 13.3.0 or above, contact sales at mds@tibco.com.  When emailing sales, provide your current Statistica serial number with full contact information.  See  How to locate the Statistica serial number
