Issue/Introduction

Web Player error: "Data connector not deployed in server” or "The Data connector is not available" due to Nodes and Services (Web Player, Automation Services) not updating after updating deployment packages in Spotfire Server version 7.5 and later.

Resolution

1). Log in to Spotfire Server and click Nodes and Services.

2). On the Your network page, under "Select a view", click "Nodes", and then select the node you want to update. The Update Service button is visible in the upper-right pane under "More Actions".

3). Click "Update Service" and then in the confirmation dialog, click "Update".

4). This creates a new, updated service without service instances with the same name followed by (NEW). To move the service instances to the new service, select the old service, click "More actions" and click "Migrate" and when prompted, click "Migrate" again.

The new service duplicates the settings of the old service, including its name, resource pools and ports. You can view the status of the current activity and details about recent activity on the Activity page of "Nodes and Services".
