Description

Purpose:
The purpose of the  'Request Timeout’ is to prevent long running queries from running forever.

Issue/Introduction

This article discusses the definition, recommended values and ways of configuration for the request timeout value in Tibco Data Virtualization (TDV).

Resolution

Recommendation:

- Timeout value is entirely dependent on the types of queries being run.
- Typical value would be between 300 - 600 seconds (5 minutes to 10 minutes).
- If a query might run for a couple minutes, the timeout has to be set higher than 2 minutes.
- If these are ETL type queries that could run for hours, the timeout value will be greater than the expected time to complete.

Where to Configure these Values:

- Check the server configuration as well as the Driver URL.
- Driver URL will overwrite the server value.
