Looking at the Data Sources tab within Information Designer, you may want to change the table name listed. For example, the table “FILM”

Resolution

You will need to contact your DBA (database administrator) and change the table name within the target database, but by doing so you will break all information links within Spotfire that are  connected to this table.
 
If you look at a Column object in Spotfire Information Designer, you will see the name of the table and the full location of the object. When you change the name of the table outside of Spotfire, it will not change within Spotfire, because Spotfire is not controlling the change. You would have to recreate all of the column 
objects
and have them point to the new table name.
