Resolution
(1) TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services (TSSS) 7.11.1 is tested and supported for use with Spotfire 7.9, 7.10, 7.11, 7.12, 7.13, or 7.14. For those Spotfire releases, TSSS 7.11.1 is the TSSS version to use.
Please be sure to read the Release Notes for TSSS 7.11.1.
(2) TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services (TSSS) 7.5 is the version that was originally tested with Spotfire 7.10, 7.9, 7.8, 7.7, 7.6 and 7.5. TSSS 7.5 is supported for use with these Spotfire releases. (Note: A retirement date of 2019-12-31 has been announced for TSSS 7.5.)
Additional details:
TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services (TSSS) is a separate product, to be purchased from TIBCO, then downloaded and installed, independent of any other TIBCO Spotfire products. (It is not part of Spotfire Server.) Once you have a TSSS instance installed and running, a Spotfire Administrator can provide the URL (web address) that connects to it, as a Spotfire Preference for the Everyone user group. All Spotfire clients (Spotfire Analyst [when a data function's Run Location is set to "Force Server"], Web Player, and Automation Services) will then connect to the TSSS instance using this URL, which is their only link to TSSS.
We recommend installing TSSS on its own server, in the same location (geographical / physical / network / domain / firewall / proxy) as Spotfire Server, Web Player, and Automation Services are installed, to optimize performance in transferring data to and from the TSSS instance.
