During the installation of Statistica Enterprise, the installer offers choices on whether to create or use an existing database. Which option should I choose?
Issue/Introduction
What is the difference between selecting "Create New Database" and "Use Existing Database" during Statistica Enterprise installations?
Environment
Windows operating systems only. Oracle or MS SQL database. Server (Enterprise) installs only.a
Resolution
The database option if referring to a metadata database for all of the entries in Enterprise Manager.
If this a completely new install where Statistica Enterprise has not used before, then select "Create New Database." This will create all the tables in the schema so Statistica Enterprise can function correctly (stores configurations, user information, analysis permissions, etc.). If this is a new install that is replacing an older install of Statistica Enterprise and all the enterprise configurations need to be carried over to the new install, then select "Use Existing Database."
