Java 1.8 support was added starting GS 5.2.0 and is the only version supported with GS 5.2.0. Any other versions of Java will not work with this version of GridServer software.

Java 1.7 might work for the large part, but there have been very specific changes around SSL and encryption that does not make it fully compatible with 5.2.0.  Therefore, we are dropping Java 1.7 and any other versions prior to it with GS 5.2.0.

Please install Java 1.8 before moving to GS 5.2.0. Refer to GS 5.2.0 readme file for more details about supported platforms: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/dsp_gridserver/5.2.0/TIB_dsp_gridserver_5.2.0_readme.txt.
