Issue/Introduction

Why are the tables or views published in TIBCO Data Virtualization Studio not visible in Tableau?

Resolution

Follow the below steps for publishing the resources in TDV so that they become visible in Tableau after successful connection with TDV:

1. Open TDV Studio.
2. Expand the Composite Data Services under the resource tree.
3. Right-click on the Databases folder and create a new Database of the desired name.
4. Right-click on the newly created Database and create a new Catalog. Assign a name to the catalog.
5. Right-click on the newly created Catalog and create a new Schema. Assign a name to the schema.
6. Go to the resource that needs to be published, right-click on it and select the Publish option.
7. A new window will be prompted, select the Schema created in step (5) and click OK.

NOTE
Below is the path that the published resource will have in TDV:
Composite Data Services--> Databases-->Database(created by you)-->Catalog-->Schema
