Description
The “bad magic in zcompr_recv” error indicates that the message received by the RVRD does not have the right magic number to identify it as an RV message.
Some of the possible causes could be:
(a). There is a non-RV based application to rvrd tcp listen port. frequently noticed this symptom caused by port scanning.
(b). NIC card on machines involved are not functioning correctly.
(c). switch/router between subnets is not functioning correctly.
(d). checksums have been turned off
