Issue/Introduction

Unable to work after login via the iProcess Workspace (Windows) client as an iProcess user. Immediately after login the iProcess Workspace (Windows) client window is minimised. The iProcess client is in the Windows task bar however the task cannot be maximised or expanded. The issue occurs on all Windows 10 client workstations when logging in to iProcess as the user.

Environment

TIBCO iProcess Workspace (Windows) - All supported versions Windows 10

Resolution

iProcess stores some user client configuration on the iProcess Engine server. This is to ensure the user has the same configuration when logged in to iProcess on different workstations.

The client configuration is held on the iProcess Engine server under $SWDIR/queues

The file for each user is:
    $SWDIR/queues/<username>/wqmgr.cfg

For the swadmin user the file is:
    $SWDIR/queues/swadmin/wqmgr.cfg

One property in the wqmgr.cfg file is PLACEMENT.
The property can have the setting of:
     NORMAL
     MINIMISED
     MAXIMISED

The issue occurs if the property is set to MINIMISED

The resolution is to:

1. On the client workstation - stop the iProcess Workspace (Windows) client

2. On the iProcess Engine server – update the wqmgr.cfg file for the user and set the value of the PLACEMENT property to NORMAL or MAXIMISED

3. On the client workstation - start the iProcess Workspace (Windows) client and login as the user

The issue occurs if a user performs the steps:

1. Logs into the iProcess Workspace (Windows) client

2. Minimises the client window

3. Exits the iProcess Workspace (Windows) client in the task bar

The wqmgr.cfg file of the user will have the PLACEMENT property set to MINIMISED.

An alternative approach is to delete the wqmgr.cfg for the user – the file will be re-created with default values on the next login. However, this would set all display settings back to the default values.
