This article applies to switching an organization from the US data center to the EU data center.
Questions:
Q: Why should I change the data center where my Organization is located?
A: Data sovereignty, to make sure data doesn’t leave the region; and improved performance, removing latency caused by the distance between data stores.
Q: If we had a partner do the setup and design, will we need to have them available?
A: If there is no one who is familiar with the setup at your organization, you will need to have the partner available to work with us.
Q: Will there be any downtime?
A: Yes. Time will be coordinated with Support, a 1-2 hour maintenance window will be needed. All Solutions must be set to on-demand and not run. You also cannot do any development work or run in debug mode until our team has reassigned the Organization to the new data center. Your Solutions will remain down until new On-Premise Agents (if using) are installed (see item 3 below).
Q: Is this process proven and safe?
A: The process to reassign data centers was developed and tested by the TIBCO Scribe® Site Reliability Team.
Q: Why do I need to do this now?
A: The data center reassignment must be completed before the migration of your Solutions from TIBCO Scribe® Online to TIBCO Cloud ™ Integration.
Q: What is the process?
A: There are several Steps to the process:
- All Solutions must be put into an "On Demand" state.
- Identify any Event Solutions (Request/Reply or Message Maps) because their endpoint URLs will change.
- If you use On-Premise Agents, you will need to create new ones after the data center reassignment and update your Solutions to use the new agents. Old Agents must be deleted and cannot be re-used after the data center reassignment. Please see this section in the TIBCO Scribe® Online Help.
- If you have made any local configuration changes to allow On-Premise Agents to work through a firewall or proxy, those changes will need to be repeated for the new Agents. Refer to this section in the TIBCO Scribe® Online Help.
- New On-Premise Agents will need access to the Europe AWS Service Bus (*.servicebus.windows.net) which could impact firewall rules.
- If using Cloud Agents, the source IP address for those Agents will change, however, the TIBCO team will move those Agents to the new data center during the process.
- Make note of any other whitelisting/security considerations required to allow the product to work and update your whitelisting rules accordingly. Please see the information here from the TIBCO Scribe® Online Help.
