Spotfire Statistica | 8.0 and higher |
When migrating Statistica from an old server, Server_Old, to a new server, Server_New, please choose one of the following resolutions:
RESOLUTION 1 (Note: This resolution allows for Statistica to be installed on the Server_New without loosing functionality on current workstation/clients.)
Overview: Install Statistica on a new server, un-install/re-install Statistica on each workstation/client, uninstall from the old server, and then register for the full license on the new server.
Part 1: Server Install
1. Install Statistica on the new server, Server_New (for non-Enterprise installs, skip to Step 3 below):
2. For Enterprise installations, make sure to point to the existing metadata database the old server is pointing to (please make a backup of the database before proceeding):
3. Select the "Manually register" option:
4. Save the file in any location (Desktop location preferred) and complete the installation.
Important note: In 14 days, the new installation must be registered or the Statistica license will expire (See Part 3 below).
Very Important note: If upgrading to a later version while using the same enterprise metadata database repository, the below dialog will appear when launching Statistica for the first time. Click the "OK" button to upgrade unless a backup has not been performed. If no backup has been performed, perform a back up of the metadata database before opening and clicking the OK to upgrade the database schema:
Part 2: Workstation/Clients Install
5. Uninstall Statistica from each workstation/client through Control Panel-->Programs and Features
6. Install Statistica to each workstation/client from the Workstation Installer share on the Server_New.
Part 3: Old Server Un-installation
7. Uninstall Statistica from the older server, Server_Old. During un-installation a dialog will present the option to un-register the installation. Click the 'Yes' button:
A message box will appear indicating if un-registration is successful or not successful. If unsuccessful, please ignore this as this will not have any affect on a new installation.
Part 4: Register on new server
8. On Server_New, launch the Concurrent License Manager which can found by clicking Start | All Programs | Statistica folder. Click the 'Register' button to register:
9. Click the 'Automatic' radio button and then click 'OK':
10. Select the StatSoftRegistration.txt file, located at <local server drive>Program Files (x86)\Statistica\FLEXlm\.
11. Click "Open" and registration will complete automatically
12. License is applied automatically.
Registration will complete automatically and the license file will be applied automatically (internet connection required).
Important note: If registration does not complete automatically, please complete the manual registration by following the steps in this knowledge base article: https://support.tibco.com/s/article/How-to-register-for-the-full-Statistica-license-file-manually
RESOLUTION 2
Overview: If users are not in need of Statistica for a certain time, say during server maintenance, the following steps can be used to migrate Statistica to a new server:
1. Un-install Statistica from the current server, Server_Old (VM and original install, if applicable).
2. During the un-install process, a dialog will as if you want to un-register the install from our registration server. Click 'Yes.'
3. A return message will display if the un-registration was successful or not (see #7 above). If un-successful, disregard and continue with the un-install process.
4. Finish the un-instillation process from Server_Old
5. Install and register Statistica on the new server, Server_New. See the installation guide here: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/stat/13.5.0/doc/pdf/TIB_stat_13.5_installation.pdf?id=2
Note: If upgrading to a later version while using the same enterprise metadata database repository, the below dialog will appear. Click the "OK" button to upgrade unless a backup has not been performed. Then perform a backup of the metadata database and then open Statistica and click the "OK" button.
