Description

Issue/Introduction
How to query OLAP cube from from Microsoft Analysis service in Statistica?
Resolution
1. Login to Enterprise Manager as user with System Admin (SADM) or Data Admin (DADM) or launch Statistica
2. Select a system view folder, right click and select "New Data Configuration" in Enterprise Manager and select the Database connection that connects to SQL Server Analysis Service from the drop down list. (In Statistica, select File>>Open External Data>> Query>> New and choose the connection that connects to SQL Server Analysis Service)
3. If using Enterprise Manager,click on New button in the Queries section of the data configuration.
Click on SQL Wizard.
If using Statistica, Choose the connection and click OK
4. In the Query Window that opens up , select View >>Cube/MDX
5. Define the Rows, Columns and Slicer to build the MDX Query. Preview the data optionally and click on the green triangle to bring the data back to Statistica.
If using Enterprise Manager,name the data configuration, define access permissions for the data configuration and commit the change. Click on Explore button on the data configuration to bring the data into Statistica for further analysis.
