Description
An error message is displayed which says “Statistica cannot check out a license from the available license pool.” What causes this error?
Issue/Introduction
This article discusses some causes of the licensing error: "Error: Statistica cannot check out a license from the available license pool."
Environment
Windows operating systems only. Statistica 13.0 and above require Windows Server 2008 R2 (Windows 7) and above.
Resolution
If the installation of Statistica is on a network install (concurrent or server installs), check to see if all of the licenses are in use or if there is a network permissions issue. Check this by opening the Concurrent License Manager (see What is the Statistica Concurrent License Manager?).
If the installation is a stand-alone desktop, check to see if the license file exists. The license file is names stat.lic (or Stat.lic) and is located in the application folder, typically C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica <version #>. If the license file does not exist, perform an un-install and a re-install of Statistica.
