1. Open TIBCO Statistica Enterprise and create a Data Entry folder in the System view where we will store our Data Entry Setups (DES). Right-click on the folder and chose "New Data Entry Setup":
Give it a name, i.e. DES and click on the Next step to configure the Access permissions. Here you can define the users that will have access to this data entry. For more information on users and permissions check this
article.
For creating a data entry user will need to have
Data Entry Admin (EDE) permission and
Data Entry (DE) is for being able to enter sample in the Web Data Entry portal.:
Commit the changes. Once this is done, we will create Labels and Characteristics that will be used for our data entry form.
2. Characteristics are definitions of fields used for collecting continuous data points that we want to analyze, i.e. pH Value, Viable Cell Count. To create one, right-click on the folder we previously created and chose New Characteristic, give it a name, i.e. pH Value, and commit the changes:
3. Labels are definitions of fields used to collect categorical values that we will use in our analysis for traceability and filtering, i.e. Batch number, Supplier name. To create one, right-click on the folder we previously created and chose New Label, give it a name, i.e. Batch number, and commit the changes:
4. Next step is to add these to our DES. Navigate to the Inputs section of your DES and Add a Characteristic, Label and a Separator with instructions, i.e. "Please enter the pH value for the sample":
Once Separator is added, you can move it between Label and Characteristic by using the up|down arrows in the bottom right corner, commit the changes.
PLEASE NOTE: Adding the separator is optional for better readability. Also, more inputs (additional labels and characteristics) may be added as deemed necessary in the Data Entry Setup.
5. Open your browser to access the Data Entry page, i.e http://localhost/dataentry/ , enter Data Entry User credentials to log in, click Create New Sample and you should be able to see our DES:
