Description

Developed a Model/Workflow in Statistica Workspace and added it as a Spotfire Data Function as described here. How can this model now be used with data from Spotfire assuming that the variable names /column names match between the data in Statistica workspace and Spotfire Data Table?

Issue/Introduction

How to pass input from Spotfire to Statistica Data Function?

Resolution

Let us assume that this is the workspace in Statistica that is being used as the Spotfire Statistica Data Function . It has 1000 rows that is used to train the model. Simply right click on the data source node that should be replaced from data from Spotfire and mark it as a Input node. You may optionally mark a specific node(s) to be an Output node similarly. Save this workspace back to Local disk or Enterprise depending on your choice.

In Spotfire Analyst, click on Tools>>Statistica and add the workspace as a data function.  Click on the Gear Icon to edit the parameters of the data function. Alternatively, you may also click on Data>>Data Function Properties>> Edit Parameters.

In Input parameters, choose Columns and select the data table from Spotfire that you would like to use as input and select appropriate columns that are used by the model in Statistica. In this specific example, we are sending 19,000+rows from Credit_Big table in Spotfire. Note how the data function automatically modifies the visualization behind based on the input that is now passed from Spotfire Analyst.
