Description

  • Users who have an existing installation of any version from Statistica 12 SP1 (12.0.65.4) through version 13.4 may upgrade directly to Statistica 13.5 without uninstalling. For any version prior to Statistica 12 SP1 (V12., V11, V10, etc.),  these have to uninstalled first and then followed up a clean installation of version 13.4

  • It is necessary to uninstall any updates in order to upgrade to 13.5 (hotfixes are not required to be uninstalled).  Updates are uninstalled from Control Panel | Programs and Features  by right-clicking the update and selecting "Uninstall".  Below is an example of an update:

Remove Updates under Programs and Features

Important Notes:

  • Please make a backup of the Networks Analytics sub-folder  (typical location is <local server drive>:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica <version #>\) as there was a reported issue when an upgrade occurred from 13.2 to 13.3.0 that networks were missing.  For Enterprise only (this includes Statistica Server, Live Score, MAS, Web Data Entry), it is strongly recommended to make a backup of the Enterprise metadata database as well.
  • In-place upgrades do not update the license file.   To update the license file, see What is a Statistica Access Code and how to request one.

2.  If not already unzipped or extracted, right click on the  TIB_stat_13.4.0_win.zip file, select "Extract All...." and extract to any location

3.  Open the extracted folder and double-click on CDSTART.exe:

4. The installer will begin, check to makes sure there is the necessary hard disk drive space, provide an option to upgrade after it detects a currently installed version that it can upgrade. Check the box to upgrade and click the "Next" button:

NETWORK UPGRADE (Applies to Statistica Server (Enterprise), Web Data Entry, Live Score, etc.)

The installer will only upgrade the server component of a network install.  Workstations/clients are upgraded only from the server after the server upgrade has completed.

  • For Statistica Server (Enterprise) installations, It is highly recommended to perform a backup of the Statistica Server metadata database before upgrading.

  • For network installs, the steps in the SERVER (Part 1) must be performed first, only then can the steps in the WORKSTATION/CLIENTS (Part 2) be followed.

SERVER (Part 1)

1.  Download the installer files through the eDelivery website.  See How to download the Statistica 13.4 or 13.5 installer files? There is not a separate Statistica upgrade installer as the full installer is used to upgrade.  Note:  There is a separate installer for SDMS upgrades (TIB_STAT-DMS_13.4.0.WIN.ZIP)

2. If not already unzipped or extracted, right click on the TIB_stat_13.5.0_win.zip file, select "Extract All...." and extract to any location

Additional steps 8 through 10 only apply to Server (Enterprise) installs:

8.   (Enterprise only)  When Statistica is launched for the first time after the upgrade, the enterprise metadata database may require an update (when upgrading from 13.4 to 13.5, no upgrade is required).  Click the "Yes" button to continue  (a backup for the metadata database can be performed before clicking "Yes"):

Schema update

9.  (Enterprise Only)  Click the "Yes" button to upgrade if a backup of database has been performed already.  Otherwise please click the "No" button and perform a back up of the metadata database, then launch Statistica again and click the "Yes" button:

Are you sure you want to update the schema now?

10.   (Enterprise Only) A successful dialog should appear.  Click "Close" and Statistica will launch:

Update successful

WORKSTATION/CLIENTS (Part 2)

To upgrade individual workstations, follow these steps:

1.  Share the Statistica 13 folder on the server with read and execute permissions

2.  Logon to the workstation and run the setup.exe from the Workstation Installer 64 (or 32) folder (a sub-folder of the Statistica 13 shared folder):

13.5 64 bit workstation setup.exe

3.   The installer will detect an existing Statistica install.  Check the box to upgrade the current install:

Check to upgrade

3.  Continue the installation wizard, which will be exactly like the Desktop install, steps 5 through 7, above.  A restart will be required.
