Description

How to start the Statistica service when it has stopped due to port conflict ?
The error details will have as shown below : "Details: Status notified as STOPPED. Could not retrieve information from the service. Check that the port is accessible"

How to resolve Statistica service being stopped due to port conflict ?

Resolution

1. Login to the Spotfire Server Administration Console with administrator credentials.
2. Click on Nodes and Services.
3. Select the Statistica Service and click on the name of the service instance.
4. Click on Edit and enter the new port number in Change Port as shown below , Save and then Start the instance :

NOTE : If a port number that is not consumed needs to be determined , open command prompt on the Spotfire Server and run the command netstat -an to get a list of already consumed ports. Pick a port that is currently open

5. Edit the default port for Statistica service and save after confirming that the Statistica instance starts (illustrated above).
