SOLUTION ONE (CNET or Statistica Server/Enterprise installs)
For installs that use the FLEXlm license manager (CNET and Server/Enterprise), the "No such feature exists" error will appear when the pointer license file, on a workstation or a client, is missing or incorrect. Every workstation/client has a pointer license file that points to the server running the license manager service. The pointer license file, stat.lic, is located in the Statistica application folder. Search for stat.lic in the Statistica application folder. For 64-bit installs, the typical location is C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica <version #>\. For 32-bit installs, the typical location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Statistica\Statistica <version #>\. In the example below, the problem is that the stat.lic pointer license file has been renamed to stat.lic.bak (on a 64-bit Statistica install):
To resolve, rename the file back to stat.lic:
Statistica will launch successfully:
For missing stat.lic pointer license files, follow the steps below:
1. Browse to the server with the Statistica license manager service
2. Right-click on the ClientSTAT.tmp file and select "Copy". Typical location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Statistica\FLEXlm\
3. Right-click and select "Paste" to paste the ClientSTAT.tmp into the Statistica application folder
4. Rename the ClientSTAT.tmp file to stat.lic
For information about the ClientSTAT.tmp file, see this knowledge base article: https://support.tibco.com/s/article/What-is-the-ClientSTAT-tmp-included-with-the-Statistica-concurrent-or-enterprise-install
SOLUTION TWO (Desktop installs)
For desktop installs, the stat.lic file may be incorrectly named or missing. Search for stat.lic in the Statistica application folder. For 64-bit installs, the typical location is C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica <version #>\. For 32-bit installs, the typical location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Statistica\Statistica <version #>\
In the following example, the problem is the license file in a 64-bit installation has been renamed to stat.lic.bak:
To resolve, rename the file back to stat.lic:
For a missing stat.lic file, resolve by either uninstalling and re-installing Statistica or by contacting TIBCO Support to provide the license file. To contact support, go to https://support.tibco.com/s/ and submit a case. Please register on the support portal if you have not done so already.
SOLUTION THREE
In some cases, 13.5 trial versions of Statistica desktop were pointed to a server install and the license file changed to the pointer license file (a copy of ClientSTAT.tmp was moved from the license server to the computer where the Statistica desktop trial is installed, renamed to stat.lic and replaced the original stat.lic file in the Statistica application folder). However, this causes the "No such feature exists" unless the pointer license file has an additional line return, like the following:
Word Wrap can be selected or not selected:
The pointer license file can be modified with most text editors. To do so in Notepad, go to the end of the 26999 and press the Enter key one time. Now only the USE_SERVER will be on the 2nd line. Save the file on the desktop location. Then copy and paste into the Statistica application folder, typically C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica <version #>\.
Note: Pointing a trial desktop to the license server is not recommended. Instead, uninstall the trial (Control Panel-->Programs and Features) and re-install Statistica from the Workstation Installer folder.
