How to unregister and re-register the Windows Installer when faced with TIBCO Statistica Installation issue?

When we try to run TIBCO Statistica Installer by running it with Administrator Rights we are faced with the error message "Statistica Setup: Cannot launch setup program":

This article provides details on how to unregister and re-register the TIBCO Statistica Windows Installer when faced with error "Statistica Setup: Cannot launch setup program"

Windows 10

Resolution

Note: Turning off Windows Firewall isn't recommended. Refer to your IT team or Windows Administrators before proceeding with the changes mentioned in this article. 

In order to resolve this:
1. Disable your Windows Firewall temporarily opening Control Panel | Select the System and Security link | Choose Windows Firewall | Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off on the left side of the screen | Select the bubble next to Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended) | Choose OK to save the changes :

2. Open and Run the Command Prompt with Administrator privileges and make sure you are on the C:Windows\system32> location:

3. Run the following set of commands:
MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER
MSIEXEC /REGSERVER
REGSVR32 MSI.DLL

4. Following message should appear, click OK

5. Restart your machine.

6. Enable the Firewall by retracing the actions from step one.

7. Re-run TIBCO Statistica Installer as administrator, the error should be resolve and you should be able to proceed with installation.
