Issue/Introduction

Statistica print PDF menu "File | Print | Create PDF"

Environment

Windows

Resolution

When using the Statistica menu "File | Print | Create PDF" to print workbook items, the logic of this print option is as below:

If there is a document in the foreground, through "File | Print |Create PDF", it prints that active foreground document as a PDF file. The command to print is routed to the Graph / Spreadsheet / etc in the foreground, and it prints that document. Whatever is selected (e.g. multiple items) in the workbook is of no account. This is because the workbook never even receives the command. The document in the foreground receives the command and it prints itself as a PDF. What is in the right pane of the workbook is what gets printed.

Therefore,
1. When a folder is the main selection in a workbook, if the folder has multiple child items (e.g. parent node that contains multiple child graph items),  the multi-items are all displayed on the right pane of the workbook, then this option "File | Print | Create PDF" prints the multi-item display in a single PDF file.

A single PDF file is saved with all the items under the selected parent folder printed.

2. When you select multiple child graph items, Notice that, the right pane of the workbook displays only one graph. That's what get printed if you use "File | Print | Create PDF" option, i.e, only that displayed graph gets printed and the rest of your selection is of no account.

Only the displayed graph is printed in the PDF file, and this is by product design with the logic for this printing option explained in this article.
