Description

When logging into Webstatistica (Enterprise server), everything seems to error out "Job Status Page:/start.svb job is taking more than XXX". Checking the windows event viewer for statsoft application logs, the error message is shown as below:
User-added image

When the user can successfully log onto Webstatistica but there is nothing that comes up but the menu. This typically indicates STATCFs are not running (host processes for Statistica instances that run UI-driving macros). And no Statistica instances result in no macros and  no page UI. Although the "frame" of the web app is produced by the webstat service, hence the user is able to login and see the menu.

The event log supports this assumption: the STATCFs here are called "script server". If STATCFs are not running, it is most likely(for older versions) that the "StatSoft WebStatistica Job Server" in DCOMCNFG is configured to run under a different account from the WebStatistica service itself. As a result, it generates errors like above in older versions. And this might happen when the account for one of those two is recently changed.

Issue/Introduction

The Webstatistica displays error message "Job Status Page:/start.svb" job is taking more than XXX... ".

Resolution

The resolution is to update the logon credentials of the "StatSoft WebStatistica Job Server" and  WebStatistica service to be under the same account.
