How to resolve "404 File Not Found" when viewing WebStatistica reports?

When viewing WebStatistica reports after an upgrade, or re-install of Statistica, a 404 error appears:   404 when viewing reports via WebStatistica

Known causes:  
I.  Upgrade and installed WebStatistica to a different path (path was on C: drive originally,  but when upgraded the path was set to D: drive)
II.  Change in the permissions or path
 

Issue/Introduction

When viewing reports in WebStatistica, the "Server Error: 404 file not found" error appears and reports objects are not displayed.

Environment

Supported windows operating system only.

Resolution

I.  When the upgrade, or re-installation, path has change from C: to D: drive, for example, then the previous reports need to be moved from the previous location to the new location.

To check this, many reports will show up in the old location, like below:
Old WebStatistica reports location

New WebStatistica reports location

1.  Stop sharing on the C drive:
Stop sharing C drive location

 


2.  Share the new location, in this case the D:\WebSTATISTICAPub\wwwroot\WebSEWSS\WSReports\.  See https://support.tibco.com/s/article/How-to-set-the-Service-user-for-WebStatistica-service-to-have-Full-Control-of-WSReports-folder-to-create-and-save-report


3.  Set the path to the new location in Statistica Enterprise Manager:
Set new path to new location (D: drive in our example)




4.  Move, or copy, the old report folders from the C: drive to the D: drive location, i.e. copy all folders from C:\WebSTATISTICAPub\wwwroot\WebSEWSS\WSReports\ to D:\WebSTATISTICAPub\wwwroot\WebSEWSS\WSReports\

5.  Restart IIS and WebStatistica service by opening an admin command prompt and run iisreset


All the reports will now be visible.
