METHOD 1: 1. Locate the Statistica license file: stat.lic. On 64-bit machines, it is typically located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Statistica\FLEXlm\ folder on 32-bit machines C:\Program Files\Statistica\FLEXlm\ folder. If there are multiple lines, the machine is likely to be a licensing server. If the stat.lic has only one line that contains the license server name (pointer license), the machine is a workstation and the computer mentioned after server is the license server
NOTE: If the FLEXLM folder is missing and if the Stat.lic file is instead found in : C:\Program Files\[Statistica/Statsoft/Dell]\Statistica [version #]\ and the serial number starts with ANH/ANS without the string WSEA or CNET in the string, you are looking at a Single desktop license.
METHOD 2 In Windows Run Menu, type services.msc to launch Windows Services. If you see a service named 'Statistica License Manager' that is listed, the machine you are looking at is a Statistica License server. If the service named 'Statistica License Manager' is missing this is a workstation or a single user license (not a network license).
METHOD 3: Navigate to the Statistica installation directory. If the installer was left to defaults, this would typically be: C:\Program Files\[Statistica/Statsoft/Dell]\Statistica [version #]\ or for 32-bit install on 64-bit machines : C:\Program Files (x86)\[Statistica/Statsoft/Dell]\Statistica [version #]\
If you see folders named "Workstation Installer [64/32]" , typically you are looking at the application server. In most installations, the application server will also be the license server.
